Welcome to LETE! Your privacy is important to us. This document explains the data we collect and how we collect it, as well as how we use, share, and protect your information when you use LETE. Additionally, this policy explains the rights you have over the data you provide. 

By using LETE, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the app.

Information We Collect on the LETE Platform

The LETE Platform, including the LETE application and website, collects various types of data that may directly or indirectly identify you. This information is gathered through multiple methods, including data you provide to us, data collected through your use of the platform, and data obtained from other sources with your consent.

Personal Information

• When you sign up for LETE, we collect account information such as your name, gender, date of birth, email address, and phone number. 
• This information is necessary to provide you with access to the platform and to help ensure the security of your account.

Health Activity (User Posts) Data

• When you upload a post, you may manually enter data such as recipe ingredients, recipes, exercise names and details, time and distance etc. 
• Additionally, if you have provided prior consent, we collect data synced from fitness wearables, including time, distance, heart rate, geolocation, and calories burned. 
• Importantly, we collect and process information from connected devices and apps only with your prior consent. Data collection is limited to the specific type of exercise you are posting, with health data sharing able to be disabled or withdrawn at any time by adjusting your device settings. 
• This data is collected to enhance and personalize your experience on the platform.

Profile and Application Use Information

• When you create an account and use the LETE platform, you have the option to customize your profile. This includes uploading a profile picture, specifying health and activity preferences, following or being followed by other users, joining or creating clubs, comments, messages in clubs, etc.  
• This information enables LETE to deliver a personalized experience and provide services tailored to your interests and preferences. 

Other Information

• We may obtain information directly from you or indirectly through our service providers. Instances in which this could occur includes via participated surveys or through your participation at LETE affiliated events. 

How We Use Your Information

Upon the collection of data, LETE may use certain information for various practices as outlined below:

Provide the LETE Experience:

• Profile: A user's profile displays their name, health activities (ie. Exercises, exercise details, run map, heart rate, burned calories, etc.), joined clubs, and followers/following lists. This information is provided either directly by the user or obtained from sources to which the user has given consent.
• Health Activity Creation: When creating an Exercise or Nutrition post, all information provided by the user, or obtained from a consented source, will be stored and available in the post details. This information will be visible to other users on the Exercise or Nutrition Feed.
• Create or Join Clubs: To help users build communities with like-minded individuals, users can create or join public Clubs. Within a Club, members can access club information, participate in a dedicated forum for discussions, view club-related health activity posts shared by members, and see a list of all members. Additionally, club owners can create post recommended sessions. 
• Interact with other users: Users can like, comment and follow each others profiles, whereby the user’s public information will be provided. 

Personalise your LETE Experience:

• Club Recommendations: When users search for a club, they will be provided with a personalized list tailored to their preferences. This list is customized based on the user’s designated location and the membership size of the clubs.
• Explore Page: Users will have access to a personalized explore page tailored to their Health Activity preferences.

Protect the LETE Experience: 

• Reporting System: The LETE platform features a comprehensive reporting system that allows users to report inappropriate content. All reported content is reviewed through moderation, and LETE will notify the user in question of the outcome, which may include content removal, account suspension, or account termination.
• Support Requests: We use your information to investigate, reenact and resolve any issues or bugs you report with the LETE platform. This helps us to provide timely support and improve the platform's functionality and user experience.

Improve the LETE Experience:

• We use certain user information to analyse user behaviour, preferences, and feedback with the purpose of identifying opportunities to develop new features and improve the LETE platform. This helps us create innovative tools and experiences tailored to meet the evolving needs of our users.
• In the future, we may use certain user information to analyse your preferences and activity on the LETE platform, to deliver advertising services aligned with your interests. This would allow LETE to provide relevant and personalized advertisements while enhancing overall user experience on the platform.

Transparency of the LETE Experience:

• We use your information to notify users of updates to the LETE platform, including new features, events, and announcements. Additionally, we may inform you of any changes to our Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, or Community Guidelines to ensure you remain informed of important updates.

Sharing Your Information

LETE collects and uses information to provide personalized services, enhance platform functionality, develop new features, and ensure a secure and seamless user experience. To achieve this, the LETE platform may share certain information as necessary to operate our business and deliver the intended services.

Shared with Other Users: 

• When you sign up for LETE, your profile details - including name, username, health activities, health activity details, joined clubs, and your followers/following list - are visible to all other users.
• Currently, the LETE platform does not offer privacy controls to users or clubs, but we plan to implement such features in the future. If you do not wish for your information or your club’s information to be visible to other users, you will need to delete your account and cease using the service immediately.

Service Providers: 

• We may share user data with trusted service providers who assist us in operating, maintaining, and improving the LETE platform. These providers could perform a range of essential services, such as hosting our platform, analysing data, processing payments, and delivering customer support. All service providers we engage are contractually obligated to protect and secure your information, ensuring it is handled in compliance with applicable privacy laws and our strict data protection standards. They are only permitted to use your data for the specific purposes necessary to provide us with their services.
• Additionally, LETE may engage service providers to collect information on our behalf regarding your use of our services. This information will be securely protected and used by LETE to promote the platform and gather feedback to improve our services.

Legal Requirements: 

• We may share your data with law enforcement or other authorized officials if required to do so by law, such as in response to a valid legal request or court order. Additionally, we may disclose information if it is necessary to prevent death or serious harm to any individual, or to detect, prevent, or address violations of our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines. Any disclosure of your data in these circumstances will be handled responsibly and in compliance with applicable laws to ensure the protection of your rights and privacy.

Aggregated and De-identified Data: 

• We may share aggregated data, which does not identify individual users, publicly or with third parties, for purposes such as research, promotion, business development, analytics, or other legitimate uses. This information helps LETE and our partners understand trends, improve our services, and develop new features and offerings. By ensuring the data is anonymized and aggregated, we protect your privacy while enabling valuable insights to support innovation and growth.
• In the future, we may share aggregated data with businesses to encourage targeted advertising based on demographics rather than relying on cookies. This aggregated data may include insights derived from users' health activity preferences, clubs they have joined, age, and gender. By using this anonymized and aggregated information, businesses can tailor their advertisements to broader demographic trends without identifying individual users. This approach helps maintain your privacy while enabling advertisers to deliver relevant content aligned with user interests and preferences.

Integrated Third Party Services:

• LETE allows you to share your health activities on other social media platforms, enabling you to showcase your progress and engage with a broader community. In the future, LETE will expand these capabilities to include sharing via additional platforms, such as text and email, as well as various social media applications. We are committed to continuously upgrading the LETE platform to provide seamless sharing options, ensuring you have flexible and convenient ways to share your health activities with others. 
• In the future, the LETE platform intends to enable users to log in using a third-party account. When this feature is introduced, LETE will share only the data necessary to facilitate the third-party login process and will implement robust measures to ensure the security and protection of your information.

Privacy Controls:

LETE is a new and evolving platform dedicated to fostering a supportive and interactive environment for health enthusiasts, while prioritizing user safety, particularly for children. Although LETE is in its early stages, we have implemented foundational controls to help ensure a secure and positive experience for all users. As the platform grows, LETE is committed to introducing a range of enhanced privacy features, including advanced controls for managing user account and Club visibility, and health activity details. These ongoing upgrades will reflect our dedication to safeguarding user privacy and creating a trusted community.

Account and Club Privacy:

• At LETE, we are committed to continuously enhancing user privacy and control over shared information. While the platform may not initially contain privacy controls for accounts and clubs, we recognize the importance of offering robust privacy capabilities. In the future, LETE plans to implement advanced privacy settings, allowing users to customize the visibility of their accounts, clubs, and health activity details. These enhancements will empower users to manage their information more effectively, ensuring a secure and tailored experience on the platform.

Children Privacy:

• At LETE, our mission is to create an interactive and supportive environment for health enthusiasts while prioritizing safety, particularly for users under the age of 18. LETE is not designed for or directed toward children under the age of 16, and we have implemented technical measures to prevent users under this age from accessing the platform. Additionally, to reduce the risk of inappropriate behaviour, LETE has chosen to forego a direct messaging feature, ensuring a safer experience for all users. These measures reflect our commitment to fostering a positive and secure community for health-focused interactions. Any account found to belong to a user under the age of 16 will be terminated. Users can email support@leteapp.com to contest a verdict by providing proof of age. 

Updating Account Details:

• Users are responsible for ensuring that their account details remain accurate and up to date, as required by the policies outlined in LETE’s Terms of Use and Community Guidelines. Failure to maintain accurate account information or any violation of these policies may result in the suspension or termination of the user’s account. To update account details, users can easily navigate to the Profile tab and select the "Edit Profile" option to make necessary changes. Maintaining accurate information helps ensure a secure and seamless experience on the platform.

Deleting Accounts and Data:

• LETE users may delete their accounts at any time through the profile settings page, as well as remove specific data such as their health activity information. 
• Users may request the deletion of their data from LETE’s systems; however, this may not include data stored in our backup system. While LETE will make every effort to delete the data promptly, users should understand that technical constraints may delay the immediate removal of all or some data. To request data deletion, users can contact us at support@leteapp.com. 
• Additionally, LETE cannot control or delete data that users have shared publicly or directly with others on third-party platforms or services.

Data Security:

The LETE platform is committed to protecting user data and ensuring it is handled securely and in compliance with the terms of this Privacy Policy. While we implement robust security measures to safeguard your information from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data. However, LETE uses its best endeavours to protect your information and minimize any risks. All data processing is conducted in alignment with our Privacy Policy, and we strive to maintain transparency in the management of user information. Additionally, third-party partners or service providers we work with are required to adhere to strict data protection standards, ensuring your data is handled responsibly and securely.

To further protect your account and personal information, LETE encourages users to take proactive measures in managing their accounts. We recommend using strong and unique passwords that are difficult to guess and avoid reusing passwords from other accounts. It is also essential to refrain from sharing your password with others, to maintain the security of your account. If you notice any suspicious activity or unauthorized access to your account, please report it immediately by contacting us at support@leteapp.com.

Updates to This Policy:

LETE reserves the right to modify our Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Community Guidelines at any time. Users will be notified of any changes 30 days prior to their implementation, allowing time to review the updates. Continued use of the service after this 30-day notice period constitutes acceptance of the revised agreements, and users will be bound by the updated terms as specified. If you do not agree with any of the terms within the changes, you will be required to delete your account. 

Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms of Use, the following definitions apply:

• "User" or “you” refers to any individual who creates an account, accesses, or interacts with the LETE platform.
• "Content" includes but is not limited to text, images, videos, health activity data, workout routines, meal plans, and any other material uploaded, shared, or generated by users on the LETE platform.
• “LETE”, "Services" or “Platform”  refers to all features, functionalities, software, applications, and offerings provided by LETE, including social media interactions, health and fitness tracking, and community engagement.
• "Personal Data" means any information that can directly or indirectly identify a user, including but not limited to name, email address, location, and health activity data, as further detailed in the Privacy Policy.
• "Health Activity Data" means information related to fitness, nutrition, exercise routines, and wearable device data, including but not limited to heart rate, steps, distance travelled, calories burned, and workout history.
• "Legal Disclosure" refers to the sharing of personal data with law enforcement, regulatory bodies, or other authorised entities when required by law, court order, or legal obligation.
• "Terms of Use" refers to this legally binding agreement between LETE and its users, governing access to and use of the LETE platform, including its features, services, and community interactions. By using LETE, users agree to abide by these Terms.
• "Community Guidelines" are the rules and standards governing user conduct on the platform, including acceptable content, prohibited activities, and enforcement measures.
• "Privacy Policy" refers to LETE’s policy governing the collection, use, sharing, and protection of user data, including personal information and health activity data. The Privacy Policy explains user rights regarding their data and is incorporated by reference into these Terms of Use.
• "Aggregated Data" is non-personally identifiable data compiled from multiple users for statistical, research, marketing, or analytical purposes.
• "Third-Party Services" refers to external platforms, applications, or providers integrated with LETE, such as fitness wearables, payment processors, and advertising partners.
• "Service Providers" refers to third-party companies, vendors, or contractors engaged by LETE to assist in operating, maintaining, and improving the LETE platform. These services may include, but are not limited to, data hosting, analytics, customer support, payment processing, security, and advertising. All Service Providers are contractually required to protect user data and comply with applicable privacy laws.
